The 2015 DH State Champs will be held on 26th& 27th September 2015. The 2015 DH State Champs will be a two day event and will include unofficial practice on Saturday and Official Practice, Seeding and Racing on Sunday. 


Timings are as follows:
 Saturday, 26th September 2015 – Unofficial Practice (self shuttles):
  • Registration Opens: 07:00
  • Track Cleared for Practice: 07:00
  • Practice Shuttles Commence: 08:00
  • Lunch Break 11:30 – 12:30
  • Practice Commence: 12:30
  • Track Closed & Cleared: 16:00

Sunday, 27th September 2015:
  • Registration Opens: 07:00
  • Track Cleared for Practice: 07:00
  • Rider & Officials Briefing: 07:10
  • Practice Shuttles Commence: 07:30
  • Practice Ceases: 10:30
  • Seeding Elite Men, Elite Women & U19 Men 11:30
  • Lunch – All other Categories 11:30
  • Racing Commences for: 13:00 (Approximately)

WHERE TO WATCH:
Access To Mackenzie Frenzy Downhill Track:
- best access point to hit the Down Hill track. Some parking on the road available at the end of Harvey Street.  MAP HERE

Access To The Bottom Of Jubilee Park (End of Frenzy - Pits, Event Village, Presentations):
- best if you want to avoid a climb back up the range. Access to all the main trails and car park area as well. MAP HERE

EVENT VILLAGE: End of Amos Road

ENTRY INFORMATION
Entry for this event is open to all members of the public however; competitors must be full MTBA Licensed Members or purchase MTBA Rider Day Membership @ $20 which covers both practice and racing.
Event entry as detailed below.
  1. Entry to this event is only available via online registration through Register Now.
  2. Registration will open on 11 August 2015 and close at midnight on 24 September 2015.
  3. Offline Registration for this Event including Saturday Practice WILL NOT be available under any circumstances.
  4. If this event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. extreme weather), entry fees will be transferred to the revised event date if possible. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be granted as TMBC is required to commit funds for many of the services required to conduct this event!
  5. If you have registered to attend this event and as a result of personal unforeseen circumstances are unable to attend, unfortunately a refund cannot be granted.

  • Elite Male & Elite Female – $85
  • Expert Male – $85
  • Master Male – $85
  • Veteran Male – $85
  • Sport Male & Sport Female – $85
  • Under 19 Male – $85
  • Under 17 Male – $85
  • Under 15 Male – $70
  • Hardtail – $85

CATEGORY INFORMATION
  • Elite Men/Women: This is the highest level of downhill racing in Queensland and you will need to possess high levels of skill, experience and fitness to be competitive in this Category. Elite category requires Athletes to undertake a Seeding race in addition to their race run and no age restrictions apply.
  • Expert Men: Not quite the top step of DH racing, but almost! You will need to possess intermediate levels of skill, experience and including fitness in downhill racing. No age restrictions apply.
  • Veteran Men: 30-39 year age restriction applies. This category is for the older but still fast riders and they should possess intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness in downhill racing.
  • Masters Men: 40+ year age restriction applies. This category is the more mature but still fast riders who possess intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness in downhill riding. Previous attendance at downhill or gravity events is a must!
  • Sport Men/Women: This is a great entry point to downhill racing for riders who are in their first season of racing. Riders should possess a low to intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness in order to complete this demanding track! No age restrictions apply.
  • Hard-tail: This category is for riders racing a bike without rear suspension and there are no age restrictions however; they should possess low to intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness in order to complete this demanding track!
  • Junior Under 19 Men: This category is for 17-18 year old riders who turn 19 years of age after 31 December 2014. They should possess intermediate to high levels of skill, experience and fitness to be competitive in this Category and Athletes will be required to undertake a Seeding race in addition to their race runs.
  • Junior Under 17 Men: This category is for 14-16 year old riders who turn 17 years of age after 31 December 2014. They should possess intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness to ride a downhill track of this nature.
  • Junior Under 15 Men: This category is for 12-14 year old riders who turn 15 years of age after 31 December 2014. They should possess low to intermediate levels of skill, experience and fitness to ride a downhill track of this nature.

EQUIPMENT
Your bike must be suitably equipped for downhill mountain bike racing and may be subject to scrutiny by the Commissaire’ panel of officials. Additionally your bike must have the following:
  • Front and rear functioning disc brakes
  • At least one (1) gear
  • Bar plugs and/or lock-on collars
SAFETY
There are minimum safety requirements for personal body Armour and protection when practicing and racing downhill events endorsed by MTBA and all riders are required to meet these requirements including:
  • Full Face Helmet with Visor attached
  • Knee Protection
  • Elbow Protection of not less than 3⁄4 sleeve length
It is also recommended that riders consider using Neck Brace, Goggles, Full Finger Gloves and Spinal armour. Downhill riding/racing is a dangerous sport and riders need to consider the consequences of not wearing protective equipment.

IT’S TIME TO RIDE YOUR BIKE!

Check the TMBC Facebook page or group for deets on our next Social ride each Saturday from around 2:30pm at the top of Bridge Street.

20 plus riders last weekend, so a great turn out.
Everyone’s MTB hero & TMBC member Jared Graves hung out with the crew for RND3 of the Qld GE series @ Mt Joyce last weekend. Jared took the clean sweep of all 5 stages taking the win ahead of TMBC's Lindsay Klein.

Both are about to head O/S to contest remaining rounds of the EWS. 
TMBC also took the top 2 steps in the Eite Women’s field with Kylie Maduna 1stShelly Eshman-Myhill 2nd. John Wallace also took the top step of Expert Category.Jason Greer picked up 4th in Vets.

TMBC also has a bright future is ahead with Laura Craft top step of the U/15 podium &Angus Durack taking 4th in U/17.
Ripper video from Element Photo and Video from Rd 3 at Mt Joyce last weekend. Plenty of TMBC and Tbar locals in play.
Good result for Toowoomba juniors at the Sunshine Series Round 2 at Mt Crosby. Congrats to Logan Sullivan who was  2nd in U11's, Shane Jackson 4th.Laura Craft 1st in U15 Ladies.

Round 3 is on the Sunday at Hinze Dam on the Gold Coast. Good luck to all competing
Thanks to everyone who came to maintenance last Sunday, Roderick, James, Mick, Brett, Nathan, Nimrod, Brad and Jon.

We got lots done, whipper snipping on Granny and Rock n Roll; some modifications on Ida and Rod and the guys put in some new trail!

We also had our first $50 voucher winner, James Essery.

TMBC will be giving away a $50 Bike Shop voucher at Every Maintenance Day from now on so make sure you get down and help out

Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club will play host to the 2015 Oceania Championships and the next round of the National Mountain Bike Championship Series – two world class events over 5 days.

We expect to see upwards of 400 riders and media converge at Toowoomba’s Jubilee Park from February 25 to March 1, 2015 - including Toowoomba’s Own World Champion, Jared Graves.

The first event, the 2015 Oceania’s will see South Pacific Elite and Developing riders gain international ranking points for themselves and their nations. The Oceania’s with see both Cross Country Racing (XCO) and Downhill racing (DHI). The Oceania finals will occur on Thursday February 26th and Friday the 27th.

The second event in Jubilee Park will be the final round of the National Mountain Bike Championship Series. Elite, semi –professional and amateur riders from across Australia and Queensland will take to the track in both Cross Country Racing (XCO)  and Downhill racing (DHI) events. The National finals will occur

In 2015 it's the  5th Year of Rotary Ride the Range!


Rotary Ride the Range has been making a positive difference both locally on the downs, across Australia and the world supporting many worthwhile projects and charities.  Over the last five years alone, they  have raised over $100,000.

TMBC is again proud to be supporting Rotary Ride the Range and with your help we will again be supporting RACQ Careflight.


Join us in the dirt and Ride The Range March 29.



Two Great Routes - Choose 40km or 25km

Each will start at Picnic point Restaurant at 7am Sharp.  MTB Riders will travel Long Street, into Mackenzie and Campbell Streets to the join at the top of Toowoomba's Jubilee MTB Park (near the old quarry). Here you will enter over 20k's of the best Single track in South East Queensland and head down the Range.

MTB Ride the Range 40km - LONG

The long course is 40km in length, 1,300 metres of vertical elevation and the tough one. It takes in the best of Jubilee’s renowned single track and the challenge of returning to the top of the escarpment via the notorious Heart Attack Hill

MTB Ride the Range 25km - SHORT

The short course is 25km in length and takes in the best of Jubilee’s renowned single track and the challenge of returning to the top of the escarpment via the notorious Heart Attack Hill.
