TMBC Hosts DH Rnd1 of Sunshine Series

Results from the day can be found here

As posted by Club President Ryan Myler on the Forums
"Wow!! What a massive day by all of the volunteers and what a great outcome for all of the Toowoomba riders who podiumed. I can't believe the talent that Toowoomba has in Mountain biking especially in the young guys coming through.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped yesterday and those who donated their time leading into the event. Jiel, Jock and Mark Farrington did a great job getting everything ready for the race. On the day special mention goes to the lads and ladies working in the registraiton and canteen most of the day. Aiden and Rusell, Milly and Dain, Grace and Ally thanks for your help. A massive thanks to the drivers who had a hard boring job all day including Jason, Steve and Erren from our club. Thanks guys. Also thanks to Brendon case for doing the parking. Thanks to the timing lads up top Matt and Braden and a special mention should go to Zach and Milly for doing the timing. It's great that the club is finally utilising it's timing gear. You did a ripper job guys for what I reckon is the hardest job. If I have forgotten anyone I appologise "

Summer Series Rnd 5 this Sunday

Hi All,

Round 5 of the Wild West Series at Jubilee Park is on this Sunday. Rego will open at 7am and racing begin at 8am. For more info head to the clubs website or the forums. The track will be the same as the last race, so check your time and have a crack at beating it.

TMBC is also doing some trail maintenance on from 2pm on Saturday afternoon to ensure the track is in top shape for Sunday, as well as the setup for Sunday. If you can make it along & lend a hand it would be much appreciated. Tools wise, Brushcutters/Weedeaters are probably the weapon of choice. For more info check the forums.

Volunteers for Club XC race 12/2

So our clubs first round of the Summer Series XC races is fast approaching.  Here's a bit of a list of jobs that need doing, there is probably more.  If you can help out in any way, head over to the forums & let us know.

Who can volunteer on the day before?
Jobs will include:
  • Signage from Withcott to the track, including GO SLOW signs on Amos Rd - 1/2hr
  • Bunting of the course - 1-2hrs
  • Shopping for the BBQ/Drinks - 1-2hrs

Who can volunteer on the day?
Jobs will include:
  • Set up of easy ups & registration area - 6am ish
  • Car parking co ordinator (1 person)
  • Registration - 7am-8am (Probably need 4-6 people for this)
  • Timing - 8am-9.30am (If 90 people show like they did for round 1 @ adare, we should probably have 6 people for this, 2 for each grade?)
  • BBQ/Drinks - 9.00am-10.00am (2-3 people)
  • Pull down of bunting after race - 9.30am-10.00am (2-3 people)
  • Posting of results online
  • Photo's?

Most jobs on the day could be covered by the same 4-6 people & would require a total of 4hrs of your time. If your racing this is the time to get you Mums, Dads, WAGS etc involved.

Sunday, 22 January 2012

Maintenance Day - 14/01/12

Hey all,

We had a massive turn out to our maintenance day on the 14th, with a total of 18 workers, and got some great work done. There's new jumps, berms, and a lot of Rock Armouring. The corner down near the end of Rollercat, with the large boulder in it, has been fixed, with the rock being removed, meaning you can now carry a lot of speed around it. Rock Armouring has been added to the "Great Wall" section of the Turkey Trail, which should make it a bit easier to climb. The Connection Trail had a lot of work done to it, with a few new jumps being added, and even our first log ride being added to the park.

The tracks are definitely on their way up, and with your help we can make them even better, so keep an eye on here (or Facebook, or Rotorburn.com) for when our next maintenance day is, and came along and help. It can only get better!

Thanks,

Joy Boy

Trail Maintentance
Where:
Jubilee Park, Withcott end (Amos Rd).
When: Saturday 14/1/12
Time: 2.00pm
Tools Requried: brushcutters, rakes, shovels and just general tools to up clean up the trails. If you dont have any tools the club has a selection that will be there on the day.

The plan will be to meet at the Gazebo at the bottom of the MacKenzie Frenzy & start of Rollercat. See what sort of a turn out we get, then split up into groups to attack a few different tasks around the trails. Don't worry if you are a bit late, just keep an ear out for the brushcutters etc.

Tuesday, 3 January 2012

Hey everyone,

We will have a trail maintainence day on the 14/1/12. Post up what time will suit you and a time will be confirmed closer to the date. 8am or 3pm are the times we normally go off so if you can make at either of these times that would be good.

We will need brushcutters, rakes, shovels and just general tools to up clean up the trails.

Cheers

Jiel
